Environmental Control Planner Guide

The Environmental Control Planner helps you dial in optimal conditions for each growth phase.

Optimal conditions by growth phase:

  • Eggs: 30-33C, 75-80% RH, dark, minimal airflow
  • Pinheads (week 1-2): 30-32C, 65-70% RH, gentle ventilation
  • Juveniles (week 2-4): 29-31C, 60-70% RH, moderate ventilation
  • Adults (week 6-8): 28-30C, 55-65% RH, strong ventilation
  • Breeders: 30-32C, 65-70% RH, 14:10 light:dark cycle

  • Critical thresholds to avoid:

  • Below 20C: crickets become dormant
  • Above 35C: heat stress and mass mortality
  • Below 40% RH: molt failures and dehydration
  • Above 80% RH: fungal outbreaks (Beauveria bassiana)
  • CO2 above 5,000 ppm: performance drops
  • Ammonia above 25 ppm: respiratory stress

  • Ventilation: Target 6-12 air changes per hour. Heat recovery ventilation (HRV) saves 40-60% of heating energy.
