Rotary Drum Sieve for Cricket Sorting

Various - Harvesting

Overview

Hand-cranked or motorized rotary drum sieve used to separate harvested crickets from substrate, egg flat debris, and frass after chilling. Typical screen sizes used are 5mm to 8mm mesh, which allows substrate to pass through while retaining adult crickets. At harvest time, chilled bin contents are poured into the drum, rotated for 30 to 60 seconds, and clean crickets collect in the discharge tray. Fabricated locally by many producers or sourced from insect rearing equipment suppliers.
